In accordance to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines in response to COVID-19 to promote physical distancing and to promote health and well-being of the employees and the general public and to reduce the spread of the virus, Harlan County CAA will operate as follows:
? CENTRAL OFFICE: The central office is closed to any person-to-person activity; our doors are closed to incoming traffic with staff working both on-site and remotely as follows.
? TRANSPORTATION: Will be available for all urgent care needs as usual. Any non-essential trips will be prioritized and addressed as needed. We will be fully operational and available.
? SHOPPING ASSISTANCE: Harlan County CAA will implement “Shopping Assistance” during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will take orders from seniors or persons with disabilities who are unable to shop for themselves or protect themselves during this time of physical distancing. Click here to learn more.
?? WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA): WIOA Staff will rotate days to handle the mass calls regarding unemployment insurance (UI) plus their normal WIOA activities. We will be fully operational with restrictions.
⚡️LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP): LIHEAP staff will take applications via phone, email, mail, etc. and use those methods of certification as needed. We will be fully operational with restrictions.
? HOMELESS SERVICES: Will continue fully functional as needed.
?? COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT (CSBG): Will be fully functional with minimum restrictions and staff rotation as needed. This includes emergency services.
Harlan County CAA vows to provide services and stay functional and available to the best of our ability. We will explore new ideas and methods to provide for our clients and follow the CDC guidelines in order to protect the health and well-being of everyone.
Staff is encouraged to take turns and work together in each program and have mutual understandings to provide needed services to make it fair for everyone. Anyone teleworking remotely will follow the proper procedures.
