Harlan County CAA has established partnerships with Southeast Kentucky Housing and Homeless Alliance (SKHHA) to promote the development of supportive housing services for homeless persons in Harlan County.
SKHHA was formed by four organizational members experienced in crisis and intervention programs to provide assistance to people and families who become homeless.
The SKHHA program provides resources to provide comprehensive case management to clients in existing shelters which includes counseling and motivation, assistance in locating housing, employment, child care services, public assistance, short and long term goal setting, and after care services. SKHHA also provides transportation for homeless clients to employment opportunities, Social Service agencies, Educational Classes, etc. In addition, SKHHA also provides computer support for case management allowing them to interact with other agencies, be informed of new and vital information, and help train clients to obtain crucial computer literacy skills.
We provide case management, homeless outreach activities, provides intervention, home ownership workshops, budget counseling, etc.
