The Harlan County Community Action Agency (HCCAA) is accepting applications for the following job position:

JOB TITLE: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Director

DEADLINE: Thursday, March 10, 2016 at closing of business

SALARY: To be determined based on education and experience

POSITION INFORMATION: Full-time

DUTY LOCATION(s): 319 Camden Street, Harlan, KY 40831

WHO MAY APPLY: U.S. citizens with a Bachelor’s degree or greater in Social Work, Human Services, Career Development, or related field.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: A background check along with random drug testing will be conducted through local and state law enforcement agencies.

SUPERVISORY STATUS: Yes

JOB SUMMARY: This individual will be responsible for directing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) federally funded program and assisting with referrals from other organizations and agencies that currently serve this audience. Specific duties will include: supervision of all Harlan WIOA staff; intake case management duties; EKOS and multi-system reporting; collaborate with partner agencies to facilitate excellent services to WOIA participants; provide support to and facilitate continuing education for Career Advisors; ability to write and gain approval for request for proposals (RFPs) for all WIOA programs; and other duties as assigned by the HCCAA Executive Director.
This position will serve as the point of contact (POC) for the program at the Harlan County Community Action Agency’s WIOA office location.

Overnight travel, nights, and weekend hours may also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Social Work, Human Services, Career Development, or related field.
  • 3 years of prior case management experience

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF)

ABOUT US

Harlan County Community Action Agency, Inc. (HCCAA), is a private non-profit 501(C)(3) corporation that began on January 21, 1969, for the purpose of eliminating poverty in Harlan County, Kentucky. The overall purpose of HCCAA is to turn hope into reality and make our low-income individuals more self-sufficient. HCCAA gives a voice to the less fortunate and provides services whether in-house or by our community partners. HCCAA provides a multitude of various programs to assist low-income individuals and families to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency and a sense of well-being in the community. HCCAA programs help to provide better everyday living for persons in the service area. Our agency is needed for transportation, utility and security deposits assistance, medicine, child care, youth services, college tuition, weatherization assistance, homeless assistance, etc.
